Thanks PayPal! Won PayPal Dispute!

On June 8th, 2010, I purchased SEO Service from a member at BHW forum. Paid him $100.00 USD to do the work and he promised to complete the job within 11 days. On the very last day of the turn-around time, not a single progress being reported to me. So I intended to give him another 3 days to complete it and yet nothing from him though. I felt something wasn’t right, so I went to BHW and check out his sales thread, LOL, he got banned! I tried to reach him via Skype, he claimed;

“I got banned because I became a super mod over at another forum www.bl*ck**tk*ng*.com. Also because I released the fact that HaRRo is installing spyware on everyones computer”

Serve you right to get steered out from BHW!! Butttt… he still have my money LOL! So I didn’t want to cause any trouble by blaming him at that moment, I just “scared” he will not complete the job I’ve paid to him (which he did not completed it, curse you!). Conversations continued (via Skype); he promised me once again that he will complete the job in 2-3 days or less, so I gave him another chance.

After that, he started to ignore my messages at Skype till date. I decided to claim a dispute since I’ve heard nothing from him. On 30th, June 2010, I opened a case to claim dispute. The process went through (PayPal: We’ll try to decide this case within 30 days, but if the case is complicated, it may take a little longer):

  • Dispute: The buyer and seller have 20 days to communicate directly to resolve an issue with this transaction. All disputed funds are held until the issue is resolved. If both parties can’t agree to a solution, either party can escalate this to a PayPal claim.
  • Escalation: The buyer or seller asks PayPal to review the case and decide the outcome. We make every effort to resolve the claim within 30 days and restore funds to the rightful owner.
  • Awaiting other party’s response: PayPal requests more information from the seller to resolve the issue. If the seller doesn’t respond within 10 days, we close the case and restore funds to the rightful owner.
  • Requiring your action: PayPal requests more information from the buyer to resolve the issue. If the buyer doesn’t respond within the allotted timeframe, we close the case and restore funds to the rightful owner.
  • Being reviewed by PayPal: We review the information the buyer and seller have provided. We try to reach a final decision quickly, but complex cases may take longer and require additional information from the buyer or seller.
  • Closed

As of today 11th, July 2010, I received an email from PayPal:

We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favor.

We were able to recover $100.00 USD and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.

If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to recover the balance from the seller.

If the seller’s account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the seller’s account, which may include limitation of the seller’s account privileges.

Great! I just won this case! I’m really glad PayPal reviewed my case in properly even though I heard rumors that it is hard to win a dispute there if you don’t have tracking shipping number (need physical product). Well done PayPal!
